What is the Mitch Martini?

Invented in the late 1990s by bartender Giovanni Burdi, the Mitch Martini recipe is a modern classic.

Less well known than the Cosmopolitan or the Pornstar Martini it’s nonetheless a delicious cocktail packed full of the bold flavours which defined that era of cocktail history.

The addition of peach schnapps, juice, and syrup means this cocktail is one for those who have a sweet tooth.

Burdi invented the Mitch Martini recipe whilst working at London’s infamous Match bar.

He used Żubrówka Vodka, probably the most famous Bison Grass vodka around (though we have a soft spot for Holy Grass from Dunnet Bay Distillers which featured in our Southern Iced Tea recipe in our June Subscription Box).

Expert Tip

Variations on the Mitch Martini recipe include the addition of 20ml of lemon juice.

This adds a sharpness which gives the drink balance.

Try it and see which you prefer!

What to drink next?

It has to be the ultimate passionfruit cocktail: the Pornstar Martini recipe.

With passionfruit and vodka flavours, you could see it as a distant cousin of the Mitch Martini recipe.

Recently voted the UK’s number one cocktail, you simply have to try this sweet and decadent drink.

We love it so much we created a Passionfruit Martini bottled cocktail and a Pornstar Martini cocktail kit.
