Cabal Spiced Orange Mule Cocktail Recipe Ingredients

50ml Cabal No 1513 Rum
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
125ml Fever-Tree Spiced Orange
2 Wedges Fresh Lime Juice

How to make the Cabal Rum Spiced Moscow Mule

First squeeze your fresh lime wedges into a hi-ball glass.

Add your Cabal rum, then add cubed ice. Top with Fever-Tree, and the bitters, then stir.

Lastly, garnish with a lime wedge.

What is the Cabal Spiced Orange Mule?

This is a twist on the refreshing and zesty Moscow Mule recipe.

Invented in America but named in homage to the hero spirit vodka and the spirits association with Russia, the Moscow Mule is often served in a copper mug.

The story goes that John “Jack” Morgan, owner of the Hollywood Cock’n Bull Restaurant had made a ginger beer which customers weren’t fussed about. When he got talking to John Martin, who was having similar luck selling his Smirnoff vodka, they cooked up the idea of the cocktail.

For this update we wanted to create a spiced Moscow Mule variation. We replaced the vodka with Cabal No. 1513 rum, and added a dash of bitters to offset the sweetness from the ginger beer.

The rum blend works so well with the spicy mixer, with the lime juice providing a sharp hit of citrus. It’s complex, refreshing, and lively.

Cabal No. 1513 is the first expression from rum blenders Cabal. Assembled from five blended tropically aged rums, the mix is them finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

It has lovely fruity tones, which is cut by the sherry cask smoke.
