What is the Arte de Volar cocktail?
The Arte de Volar recipe is a variation on the famous Aviation cocktail.
Created by famous drinks writer Simon Difford, the recipe uses tequila instead of gin.
In a nod to the original title, “Arte de Volar” is Spanish for ‘Art of Flying’.
It’s a sweet drink, with the violet liqueur nicely balancing the sharp citrus which comes from the lime juice.
How to make the Arte de Volar recipe

2.5ml Sugar Syrup
20ml Lime Juice

Which tequila should I use in the Arte de Volar recipe?
Tequila is an alcoholic spirit, made from the agave plant.
There are different types of tequila, with the Arte de Volar recipe made with blanco (white) tequila.
Blanco tequila, which is also known as silver tequila is usually bottled as soon as it’s distilled.
This gives the spirit a crisp and clear taste, which allows the other flavours in the Arte de Volar recipe to shine through.
